Our Story

SG LEATHERS was not born in a large factory or with advanced machinery. It began with a dream and a belief that dedication, patience, and hard work could create something truly meaningful.

After being accepted to Hebron University, I faced one of the greatest challenges of my life—I simply could not afford the tuition fees. To continue my education while supporting myself, I enrolled at Al-Quds Open University, where I was able to study and work at the same time. During those years, I trained in a leather workshop, and my employer allowed me to leave only to sit for my university exams before returning directly to work. Time was incredibly limited, so I wrote vocabulary, notes, and study materials on small pieces of paper and placed them beside my sewing machine, studying while my hands continued stitching leather. I often worked 14 hours a day, and even lunch was usually just a simple sandwich eaten on the bus while traveling between university and work. Those years were difficult, but they taught me discipline, perseverance, and the value of never giving up.

While studying, leather craftsmanship became much more than a profession—it became a way to give back. I volunteered to teach leathercraft through extracurricular activities, helping students from underprivileged and marginalized communities reduce stress, discover their creativity, and develop practical skills that could build confidence and open new opportunities. I have always believed that craftsmanship is not only about making products—it is about empowering people and creating hope.

As my skills grew, so did my dream. I carried my handmade wallets and bags to Bethlehem, where I introduced them to visitors and pilgrims coming to see the Church of the Nativity. I enjoyed sharing the story behind every piece and listening to customers from around the world. Every sale gave me greater confidence that our craftsmanship deserved a wider audience. Those journeys inspired me to establish a small workshop inside my family home, where, with just one sewing machine, I began handcrafting leather products with care, patience, and attention to every detail.

After graduating with a degree in English Language, I worked as an English teacher for five years. Yet I never gave up on my dream. I spent my days teaching and my evenings in the workshop, often working late into the night. Every amount I managed to save was reinvested into the business—buying new sewing machines, professional tools, and better equipment to improve the quality of every product. Step by step, SG LEATHERS continued to grow.

As demand increased, my brothers Ibrahim and Noah joined the journey, and together we trained young artisans who shared our passion for handmade craftsmanship. We later launched Saad Ghanem Leathers Workshop on social media, followed by our eBay store, allowing our handcrafted products to reach customers across the world.

In 2018, our workshop became officially licensed, and in 2020, SG LEATHERS was officially registered as a trademark with the Palestinian Ministry of National Economy.

Today, we continue to believe that true quality is measured not by the number of products we create, but by the trust every customer places in our hands. Every piece we craft reflects years of dedication, thousands of careful stitches, and a story that began in a small room in Palestine and continues to reach customers around the world.
